Privacy Policy
Police Powers & Offences UK is a fully offline reference — built to help you look things up, not to learn anything about you.
What the app stores
All reference content ships inside the app and is read on your device — it works fully offline. A few things are saved locally on your device only and never leave it:
- Your favourites, checklist progress and appearance preference.
- Any text you type into the statement, notebook or stop-and-search builders. The app doesn't store or transmit it; if you choose to share it, that uses the standard iOS share sheet under your control.
Deleting the app removes this local data.
Network activity
The app makes no network requests of its own. The only time your device contacts the internet on the app's behalf is when you deliberately tap an official source link, which opens legislation.gov.uk, gov.uk or cps.gov.uk in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Third parties
There are no third-party SDKs, no analytics or advertising services, and no in-app purchases. No data is shared with anyone because none is collected.
Children
The app is a professional reference aimed at adult officers, students and specials. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. You can clear the app's locally-stored preferences at any time by deleting the app.
Content & disclaimer
Facts are drawn from primary legislation and the PACE Codes under the Open Government Licence v3.0, with our own plain-English summaries. This is an independent educational reference for England & Wales — not legal advice, not force policy, and not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by any police force, the College of Policing, the Home Office or CPS.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
